Identifying the location of the area from the point of view of the model of creative destruction with the focus on sports tourism (case study: the villages of Zayandehroud district in Saman County)

Abstract

Objective: Entrepreneurship plays an important role in economic growth and development, and when combined with tourism, it can significantly contribute to social and economic development. The current research is a descriptive-survey type. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of creative entrepreneurship in sports tourism with the approach of creative destruction in Shahrekord city.

Methods: The statistical population in this study includes 7391 residents of the villages in the Zayandehroud section of Saman city, who were sampled using targeted sampling (snowball technique). 40 entrepreneurs and 12 experts were selected. Data collection methods included interviews, observations, and researcher questionnaires. Data analysis involved descriptive and inferential sections to measure mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, factor analysis, regression, Pearson correlation, and non-parametric mean comparison tests using SPSS and Smart PLS software to explain the model and analyze the structural equations. Finally, the desired pattern was determined using the results and strategies extracted from the SWOC analysis.

Results: The results indicated that the averages of 3.73, 3.91, and 3.27, respectively, from the perspectives of residents, tourists, and investments, suggest that the studied area is suitable for the expansion of creative destruction in tourism. Based on the analysis, the area is in the advanced product stage in terms of the creative destruction model. The current orientation leans towards a defensive strategy, but to reach the desired position, a leap strategy is necessary.

Conclusions: Considering the area's location in the creative destruction model, there is potential for pursuing the development of creative entrepreneurship.

It is necessary to examine the state of creativity in the study area in order to achieve entrepreneurship through creativity and innovation in the field of tourism and take action towards entrepreneurship and development of the area. In this study, with the aim of achieving a dynamic and entrepreneurial rural ecosystem, the state of sports tourism in the area was examined from the perspective of the creative destruction model with a focus on sports tourism.

The study examines the relationship between creative destruction of tourism and entrepreneurship in the development of creative sports tourism at three levels (residents of the study area, tourists, and experts). The research sample size of 40 and 31 people were selected from entrepreneurs and experts, respectively. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Data analysis was performed in two parts: descriptive and inferential. SPSS and Smart PLS software were used to measure and compare non-parametric mean values and tests to explain the model and analyze structural equations. Finally, using the results and strategies extracted from SWOC analysis, the desired pattern was determined.

Based on the results of this research, the studied area is in the advanced commodity stage of the creative destruction model, which, considering the existing potentials, is increasing day by day in the number of domestic and foreign tourists. The main orientation in the current situation is towards a defensive strategy, but to achieve the desired position, a leap strategy needs to be adopted.
